Crossleft Presents: Delwin Brown and PSR (enhanced m4a podcast)

Welcome to the podcast for the second week of February, 2006. For the next few weeks, we are pleased to partner with the Pacific School of Religion as we present a lecture that offers a wonderful rediscovery of our progressive Christian heritage, beginning with the 19th century evangelicals at the forefront of the abolitionist movement. This lecture was delivered by Delwin Brown on January 26 at the 2006 Earl Lectures of Pacific School of Religion (PSR) in Berkeley, California, which focused on the theme of progressive Christianity. Del is dean emeritus of PSR and director of PSR's new Progressive Christian Witness website project (www.progressivechristianwitness.org). Before his tenure at PSR, Del was professor of theology and vice president and dean of academic affairs at Iliff School of Theology in Denver. Del has edited or co-edited several books, including Theology, Religious Studies and the University: Conflicting Maps, Changing Terrain and Converging on Culture: Theologians in Dialogue with Cultural Analysis and Criticism. For more information and recordings of past Earl Lectures, visit www.psr.edu.

If you are listening to the enhanced podcast version of this podcast in iTunes, Quicktime or a graphic-enabled iPod, you will see a picture of Dean Delwin Brown as well as scenes from the PSR campus.
