CrossLeft Presents: Cheri DiNovo and Tapestry

Welcome to the show for the second week of December, 2005. I’ve got a large file for you today, mainly because our featured speaker this week, the Rev. Dr. Cheri DiNovo, has graciously provided us with a wonderful interview that runs close to a half hour and I just didn’t have the heart to cut it into two parts. I think you’ll see what I mean. So, I’m going to put our regular musical feature on hold this week so you can hear the interview uninterrupted. Dr. DiNovo serves as the senior minister to the Emanuel Howard Park Church in Toronto and performed North America's first legalized same sex marriage in 2001. She’s just released her first book, "Qu(e)erying Evangelism" published by The Pilgrim Press out of Berkeley looking at Derrida, theology and the lived experience of her Church. Dr. DiNovo also hosts a nationally acclaimed radio show called The Radical Reverend available on the web at, Mondays EST between 4-5PM. You can find Dr. DiNovo on the web in several spots, but the best place to start is perhaps her personal website: We also hope this podcast will serve as your introduction to Tapestry, an incredibly interesting CBC Radio one program. You can find tapestry at And so, this week, CrossLeft proudly presents, The Rev. Dr. Cheri DiNovo and Tapestry.

Wow, this was a great interview! It was so reassuring to hear someone who believes and see things in such a radically inclusive and Biblical way. Thanks for sharing this. One of CrossLeft's best!
